Changelog
What's new in Mindful Reader. All updates are free for existing customers.
Version 1.11.0
13 June 2026
New
- Bottom action bar — Save, Share, and Open Original now appear at the bottom of articles too, so you don’t have to scroll back up after a long read.
- Insights bar chart — the Insights page now shows a horizontal bar chart of impact by category, sorted from highest to lowest. Each bar is coloured by trend direction, making it easy to see which categories are paying off at a glance.
Improved
- Much faster daily loading — RSS feeds are now fetched in parallel instead of one at a time. If a few feeds are slow or down, the rest still load quickly.
- Better category variety — each batch of articles now spreads across different categories, so you see a mix of topics every time — not just different feeds.
Fixed
- Articles no longer silently skipped — previously, opening the app could mark dozens of articles as “shown” even if you only read a few. Now articles are only counted as shown when they actually appear on your screen, keeping your backlog intact.
- “Show more” reliability — fixed an issue where the Show More button could stay visible but return nothing. It now correctly disappears when no more articles are available.
- Auto-scroll pauses for inputs — pressing V (save) or T (thought) now pauses auto-scroll before opening the text input.
- Read articles no longer flash as unread — switching between pages and coming back to Read no longer briefly shows already-read articles as new.
- Automatic new-day refresh — fixed a timezone issue where the app wouldn’t automatically refresh for the new day until you manually reloaded.
Version 1.10.0
6 June 2026
New
- Auto-scroll — hands-free reading that scrolls articles at a comfortable pace. Enable it in Settings and choose from 5 speed levels. Press Space to pause or resume, ←→ to adjust speed on the fly.
- Skip unloadable articles — if a blog post can no longer be fetched, you can now skip it instead of having it stuck in your reading list forever.
- Resubscribe — unsubscribed feeds now appear under their category on the Feeds page with a Resubscribe button, so you can bring back a feed you removed by mistake or want to try again.
- Unsubscribe confirmation — the feed health prompt now shows the feed name and asks you to confirm before unsubscribing, preventing accidental removals.
Improved
- Better daily variety — the daily selection now picks at most 2 articles per feed, so no single blog can dominate your reading list. Unread articles stay available for future days.
Fixed
- Feed removal reliability — unsubscribing now gives immediate visual feedback and correctly removes the feed’s articles from your reading list straight away.
- AI Smart model — fixed an issue where the Smart AI tier (Claude Sonnet) wasn’t working due to a retired model ID.
Version 1.9.0
28 May 2026
New
- Save articles for later — bookmark articles you want to revisit. Press V in the reader or click “Save” in the top bar, with an optional note about why you’re saving it. Browse and manage your saved articles from the new Saved page in the navigation bar.
- Content preserved for saved articles — saved articles are excluded from the 30-day content cleanup, so the full text is still there when you come back to them.
Improved
- Navigation — new “Saved” tab between Read and Feeds, with keyboard shortcut D.
- Backup & restore — saved articles are included in exports and imports.
Version 1.8.2
12 May 2026
Improved
- Smaller backups — exported backup files are now much smaller. Article content is re-fetched automatically when you open an article after restoring, so your backups stay lightweight while keeping all your ratings, notes, and summaries intact.
- Feed warning legend — the Feeds page now explains what the ! and !! indicators mean when a feed has a streak of low-impact articles.
Fixed
- Keyboard scrolling — opening an article with the R key now lets you scroll immediately with arrow keys and spacebar, without needing to click first.
Version 1.8.1
10 May 2026
Fixed
- Title bar click issues resolved — fixed an intermittent issue where clicks near the top of the window weren't registering properly.

3 May 2026 — Initial release
