Assistant access, a new setting in Settings that's off until you turn it on. While it's on and Gift Keeper is open, an AI assistant on your Mac, such as the Tiong Creative assistant in Claude Desktop, can read and change your Gift Keeper records, and the window shows its changes straight away. Restoring a backup doesn't turn it on. How to set it up is in the Using an AI assistant guide in the help centre.

Days-left countdowns now update when the date changes while Gift Keeper is left open, so you don't need to reload the window.
Days-left countdowns no longer show one day too many when a daylight-saving change falls between today and the occasion.
The Stores page "last updated" dates and the dates in backup and diagnostics file names now use your local date, where before they could show the previous day early in the morning in some time zones.

A Check for updates button in Settings. It checks straight away and tells you whether you're up to date or a new version is available.
Gift Keeper now looks for new versions while it's open, when you come back to the window and once an hour, not only when it starts.
The Gift Keeper icon now sits beside the name at the top of the sidebar.

The new-version notice at the top of the window now shows when an update is available. Before this version it wasn't appearing.
Dismissing the notice hides it for that version only, so you'll still see it when the next one comes out.
Gift Keeper's internal connection is now limited to your Mac, with tighter request and link checks. We recommend updating.

Occasions now stay on your Upcoming list after the day has passed, until you mark them complete. A belated celebration, or a gift you haven't handed over yet, no longer drops off the list.
When you mark an occasion complete, Gift Keeper asks you to finish any gifts still in progress: mark them given, cancel them, keep them for next year, or move them to another occasion.
New "Cancelled" gift status for plans that fall through. Cancelled gifts stay in your history but don't count towards spending.
Move a gift to a different person or occasion when you edit it.
Mark occasions complete from a person's page as well as from Upcoming.
Spending totals: this calendar year on the Gifts page, all time for each person, and both for each store.

Occasions on a person's page show the full date with the year, so it's clear which year you're looking at.
Gifts on a completed occasion are locked so your history stays accurate. Reopen the occasion to change or remove them.
Person pages have a cleaner layout, with occasions at the top and gifts labelled as planned for, given to, or received from that person.
Gift status colours match on every page, and people and stores are listed alphabetically.
Removed the unused annual budget and default reminder settings.
When you update, past occasions with nothing left to do are marked complete for you, so only the ones with gifts still in progress show as overdue.

A Stores page that brings all your stores together, with search and spending totals for gifts given and received.
Record which store a received gift came from, and add a new store without leaving the form.
Edit or delete received gifts, and label them with an occasion like "Birthday" or "Christmas".

Track where you buy gifts with store and vendor profiles, including spending summaries per store.
New "ordered" status for gifts purchased online that haven't arrived yet.
Track card progress for each person on an occasion — mark cards as purchased, written, or posted.
Mark occasions as complete when you're done for the year. Completed occasions are grouped by year on each person's page so you can see your gift-giving history at a glance.

People page redesigned — active occasions are separated from completed ones, with collapsible sections for longer histories.
The "by occasion" view now shows only upcoming occasions instead of everything.
Under-the-hood improvements to date handling and data reliability.
