Download the newest build from your Gumroad Library, then install it over your current copy:
-
Download and open the
.dmg. - Drag Client Manager to your Applications folder.
- Choose Replace when macOS asks.
Your clients, jobs, invoices, settings, and backups are kept because they are stored outside the app.
More detail is in the Updating the app guide in the help centre.
Version 1.6.0
19 October 2026
New
- Assistant access, a new setting in Settings that’s off until you turn it on. While it’s on and Client Manager is open, an AI assistant on your Mac, such as the Tiong Creative assistant in Claude Desktop, can read and change your Client Manager records, and the window shows its changes straight away. Restoring a backup doesn’t turn it on. How to set it up is in the Using an AI assistant guide in the help centre.
Version 1.5.0
16 October 2026
New
- A Reports screen in the sidebar shows what you received and invoiced for this financial year, last financial year, all time or a date range, along with what is outstanding and overdue today, payments received by month, and a table by client.
- You can export your invoices or the payments you received as a CSV file, from the Invoices page, a client’s Financials card or Reports, for a financial year, all time or a date range.
- The client report PDF has a Financials section, and before it is made you can choose whether to include financials, the activity log and reminders, and whether to use A4 or US Letter paper.
- A job can have an hourly rate, and the invoice form can then add the job’s billable tracked time as a line at that rate. Tasks and activities on a job with an hourly rate have a Billable switch, and a job can start new time as not billable, for retainers where the time is already included, so only the time you switch on gets invoiced.
- Jobs and reminders can repeat weekly or fortnightly.
- On an invoice for a recurring job you can choose which period it covers, and cycle history shows invoices added to a period after it was completed.
- A New button in the header lets you log an activity, add a reminder or start an invoice from any screen.
- The client list has a Last contact column you can sort and filter by, and a client’s page shows what they owe and how much of it is overdue.
- Reminders can be snoozed to a date you choose.
- Deleting a job moves it to Trash with its tasks and reminders, so it can be restored within 14 days like clients, activities and invoices.
Improved
- The dashboard starts with money received this financial year, outstanding, overdue and due this week, and has one Needs attention list for overdue invoices, reminders and tasks, and renewals coming up that haven’t been invoiced.
- Paid totals now count money received by the date it was paid, including part-payments, so the client page, the client PDF, the exports and Reports agree on what you have received.
- An invoice with money still owing after its due date shows as Overdue even when it is part paid.
- Status colours are the same across the app, small text is darker and easier to read, and dark mode covers more of the app’s colours.
- Job cards are lighter, with Edit, reminders and Move to Trash in a … menu, and cycle history shows one line per cycle that opens for the details.
- The Log activity form is shorter, with the less used fields under More details.
- Settings lists its sections down the side, and Trash is now opened from Settings.
- The view shortcuts are now ⌘1 to ⌘6, and they work while you are typing in a field.
- The reminder calendar shows its counts in words, such as “2 reminders” or “1 overdue”.
- Opening Client Manager a second time brings the open window forward instead of starting another copy.
- If you leave the app open for days, the daily backup is now also taken after midnight.
- Your data is written fully to disk before it replaces the old copy, and a file the app can’t read is set aside rather than saved over.
Fixed
- Editing a job no longer erases the payments recorded on it.
- Receipts now count as paid in full.
- An unpaid invoice now shows as Overdue as soon as its due date passes, without needing an edit.
- Money you mark as paid counts on your Mac’s date, so in Australia a payment marked on the morning of 1 July now falls in the new financial year.
- Converting a quote gives a tax invoice when that is your business profile’s default heading.
- A typed invoice or quote number that is already used is refused with a message on the form.
- New invoices default to today’s date on your Mac, where near midnight it could be a day out.
- Importing clients from a CSV file keeps their last name.
- The invoice form lists all of a client’s open jobs, including jobs due further out and completed jobs that haven’t been paid.
- Voiding or deleting an invoice, or removing a job from it, clears the invoiced or paid status it gave the job, and restoring a deleted invoice marks its jobs again.
- On recurring jobs, an invoice made after Complete cycle, or a renewal invoice sent early, now counts toward the right period.
- Day counts such as “2 days overdue” and the days left in Trash no longer drift by a day around daylight saving changes.
- Delete confirmations say the item goes to Trash and can be restored within 14 days.
- Errors when saving an invoice or working with backups show on screen instead of being lost.
- Line breaks inside a CSV cell no longer split it into extra rows, and negative amounts stay as numbers.
- Tasks on completed or cancelled jobs no longer show as overdue.
Version 1.4.2
11 October 2026
New
- Recurring jobs can now be billed before each period starts, which suits jobs that are paid in advance for the period of cover or work, or after each cycle as before. On a job billed before each period, a renewal invoice issued within the job’s reminder days before the next period starts counts toward that next period.
- Recurring jobs now show the current period and the next renewal or cycle side by side, each with its invoice and the date it was paid when there is one, along with when the next renewal is due.
- Jobs billed before each period have a Stop renewing button, which ends the job when its current period runs out and removes its renewal reminder.
- You can undo the most recent Complete Cycle or Complete renewal, and you can remove a payment from an invoice if it was recorded by mistake.
- Settings → About now links to the terms.
Improved
- Cycle history shows each period as a date range, with the invoice that paid for it and, for periods you complete from now on, the date it was paid.
- Adding a task opens a short form with an optional due date, and on recurring jobs an option to repeat the task each cycle. Tasks also now have a square checkbox.
- The dashboard lists keep the client, job and due date left-aligned when the window is narrow.
Fixed
- Importing clients from a CSV file now adds them, where previously every row was skipped.
- The Record payment button on a job billed on an invoice now opens the payment for that job’s open invoice, where previously nothing happened.
- A completed or cancelled recurring job no longer sends its upcoming reminder.
- Completing a cycle no longer carries payments recorded directly on the job into the next cycle, which could mark the new cycle as paid.
Version 1.3.3
1 October 2026
Fixed
- Saving invoices, quotes and client reports as PDF now works reliably.
- Downloading an invoice PDF no longer opens an empty extra window.
Improved
- A cleaner PDF design, with page numbers on longer documents and amounts that line up neatly.
- Your business logo now appears on PDFs whether it’s a PNG, JPEG, SVG, GIF or WebP image.
Version 1.3.1
1 October 2026

Version 1.3.0
14 September 2026
New
- Export a diagnostics bundle from Settings for easier bug reporting (contains only logs, never client data).
- Open source licence attribution viewable from Settings.
- Update banner is now dismissible, with version info always visible in the sidebar.
Improved

25 July 2026
